Recently, a delegation led by NJUCM Vice President Sun Xiulan visited the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), and signed a Letter of Intent with Mansoura University to jointly establish the "Belt and Road" China–Egypt Joint Laboratory of African Herbal Medicine.

The collaboration will focus on African herbal medicine research, the development of region-specific medicinal resources, and local talent cultivation—contributing to health and well-being in Egypt and the broader China–Africa region.

During the visit, the NJUCM delegation also held in-depth discussions with the EDA on the regulatory framework for registering TCM products in Egypt and explored the prospects for acupuncture legislation and standardized development.

As a WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine, NJUCM continues to expand its collaborative network in Africa, reinforcing its leadership in the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
