Visa and Residence
International students holdingX1 visa or L visa shall apply for residence permits within 30 days since thedate of entry. Otherwise, he/she will be punished by the Chinese laws forillegal residence.
The following documents arerequired for residence permit application:
1.Passport and the visa;
2.Temporary lodgingregistration certificate from local police station;
3.Original PhysicalExamination Record for Foreigners issued by Jiangsu International TravelHealthcare Centre for international students over 18 years old whose studyperiod in China is more than one academic year;
4.Original of Visa ApplicationForm for Study in China (Form JW201 or Form JW202);
5.Official letter indicatingthe study duration and the admission letter from the Students’ AffairsAdministration Office of International Education College of NJUCM;
6. Photo (white background andpassport photo size)
International students shallapply for the residence permit extension at the Exit & Entry Administrationof Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau at least 4 weeks before theexpiration date with passport and the official letter from InternationalEducation College of NJUCM. For students who illegally stay and live in Chinaafter the visa and the residence permit expire, penalties will be imposed inaccordance with relevant regulations.

3.Official letter from the Students’Affairs Administration Office of International Education College of NJUCM;
If the visa expires during theholidays, he/she has to come to the Students’ Affairs Administration Office ofInternational Education College of NJUCM and apply for the official letterbefore the holidays. The extension is no more than one year. Students who havegraduated or completed his/her study in NJUCM cannot apply for the visaextension from NJUCM.
Visas and residence permitsare relatively complex matters, and different situations require differentcomplicated procedures to handle them. Students should therefore read andunderstand the above-mentioned material and procedures in detail, and mayconsult Students’ Affairs Administration Office of International EducationCollege of NJUCM (Tel: 0086-25-86798167) on any aspect which remainsunclear.

On Xianlin campus, wehave 2 canteens. They are equipped with the latest cooking and diningfacilities, such as stainless steel dining tray, comfortable tables and chairsand smokeless gas & oil stoves. Food, snacks of diversified Chinese stylesand prices are offered in these canteens. Besides, the third floor of theSecond Canteen also provides traditional Islamic food.
Internationalstudents can stay in the international student’s dormitory on Xianlin campus.
