On May 8, Clarivate Analytics released the latest data from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), revealing that the Immunology discipline at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) has entered the top 1% globally for the first time. Following the inclusion of Agricultural Sciences in July 2024, this marks another consecutive addition to NJUCM’s list of ESI top 1% disciplines.
To date, NJUCM has eight disciplines ranked among the ESI global top 1%, including Pharmacology & Toxicology, Clinical Medicine, Chemistry, Biology & Biochemistry, Neuroscience & Behavior, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Agricultural Sciences, and Immunology. The number of ESI-ranked disciplines and NJUCM’s overall ESI ranking both remain among the top across universities of traditional Chinese medicine nationwide.
NJUCM’s Immunology discipline has published a total of 444 high-level papers indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (SCI-E/SSCI Articles and Reviews) during the data collection period from January 1, 2015 to February 28, 2025. These papers have been cited 5,846 times in total, with an average citation rate of 13.17 per article and include three highly cited papers. Entering the global top 1% signifies that the discipline has now reached an internationally advanced level.
