On October 15th, the Presidential Forum on Opportunities and Challenges of Transnational Education in the Digital Era, organized by Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, was held at the Novotel Suning Hotel.
President Cheng Haibo of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine briefly highlighted the university’s key achievements in recent years and emphasized advancing its internationalization efforts by establishing stable and mutually beneficial models of international education cooperation, fostering friendly partnerships, and expanding high-level talent cultivation and research collaborations. He also extended a sincere invitation for overseas alumni to visit their home alma mater more often and urged leaders and partners to engage closely with the university.
Deputy Director Ru Yixian of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Provincial Department of Education stated in her address that Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine has provided robust support for the development of traditional Chinese medicine in Jiangsu Province and the nation. Particularly in advancing international educational initiatives, the university has demonstrated exemplary leadership in promoting the global outreach of Jiangsu's higher education sector.
During the forum, an appointment ceremony was held for the Chair, Vice-Chairs, and Secretary-General of the International Education Alliance for Chinese Medicine. Hu Lihong, Vice President of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, was elected as the inaugural Chair of the alliance and presented appointment letters to 17 Vice-Chairs and the Secretary-General.
During the forum, the appointment ceremony of the Expert Committee on International Education of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine was also held.
This forum is one of the important academic activities in the series of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. The forum has established a platform for communication and cooperation among the participating institutions and organizations, and has provided ideas for carrying out cross-border education in the digital era.
