President Cheng Haibo Leads Delegation to Visit University of Rome Tor Vergata

From October 28th to 30th, President Cheng Haibo led a delegation to the University of Rome Tor Vergata in Italy. During the visit, President Cheng engaged in in-depth discussions with the university's President, Nathan Levialdi Ghiron, on various areas of cooperation including medical services, talent development, scientific research, and cultural exchange.

 



At the university's affiliated hospital, President Cheng and the hospital director, Elizabeth Mastropolo, explored the integration of traditional Chinese medicine within the Italian healthcare system, agreeing to establish a TCM diagnostic and treatment center.

This initiative will focus on training in TCM techniques, building a shared clinical database, and conducting evidence-based research on common diseases in Italy.

 

 

Discussions with Stefano Marini, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, led to an agreement on joint postgraduate programs in TCM.



Additionally, during a visit to the Futura Onlus Foundation, both parties discussed collaborative research projects in diabetes and dermatology, aiming to enhance scientific cooperation through shared laboratory resources, joint research proposals, and co-publication of academic findings.



Following the signing of an academic cooperation memorandum in 2023, this visit aims to further deepen the collaboration between the two institutions in talent cultivation, scientific innovation, and medical services,thereby strengthening the friendship and accelerating the partnership process, injecting new vitality into the medical exchange and cooperation between the two universities and enhancing the health and well-being of the peoples of China and Italy.
