From December 16th to 17th, Qiao Xuebin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and his delegation were invited to visit the University of Chinese Medicine in Switzerland. They had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Li Yiming, President of the University of Chinese Medicine in Switzerland, on cooperation in various fields such as the cultivation of international Chinese medicine talents, faculty training, medical cooperation, and scientific research innovation. During this period, the unveiling ceremony of the China-Switzerland Chinese Medicine Center (2024) was held. Qiao Xuebin attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Qiao Xuebin stated that as an overseas Chinese medicine center established by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of China, the China-Switzerland Chinese Medicine Center is an outstanding representative among many overseas Chinese medicine centers. Over the years, it has maintained a close collaborative relationship with our university. Through the joint efforts of both sides, it has made effective explorations in the development of overseas higher education in Chinese medicine and accumulated a great deal of successful experience, making important contributions to the international dissemination of Chinese medicine culture.
After the unveiling ceremony, the opening ceremony of the 2024 International Training Course for Chinese Medicine Teachers was held. When delivering a speech at the opening ceremony, Qiao Xuebin pointed out that as the only officially recognized university of Chinese medicine in Switzerland, the University of Chinese Medicine in Switzerland is the first independent university of Chinese medicine in Europe that can confer bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Chinese medicine. It is a milestone in the international and modern development of traditional Chinese medicine in China. It is hoped that through a series of projects focused on improving teaching quality, such as the International Training Course for Chinese Medicine Teachers, both sides will strive to build the University of Chinese Medicine in Switzerland into a cradle of overseas higher education in Chinese medicine.
