On March 17th, our Confucius Institute at the University of Galway celebrated the annual St. Patrick's Day with the local people of Ireland. The team formed by NJUCM's Confucius Institute joined the celebration activities in Galway, showcasing unique Chinese projects and integrating traditional ethnic performances, attracting the attention and praise of the general public. More than 2,700 people from 65 groups participated in this celebration, making it the largest group and participant event in history.

The Confucius Institute team consisted of nearly 50 Chinese international students and ethnic Chinese, who showcased rich and colorful Chinese elements such as dragon dance, Chinese Tai Chi and traditional ethnic costumes, and also brought cute panda dolls to local children.

A banner with the words "Galway & Nanjing" stood out prominently, highlighting the landmark buildings of Galway and the urban landscape of Nanjing, as well as the clover of Ireland and the plum blossom of Nanjing, symbolizing the good wishes for friendly exchanges between the two cities.

The people participating in the activity expressed that through the wonderful performances and interactive experiences, they have gained a deeper understanding of cultures integration between China and Ireland. The St. Patrick's Day event not only brought joy and surprise to the local people, but also provided new opportunities for the promotion of Confucius Institute in the local area. The Institute will make unremitting efforts to enhance friendship and understanding between the people of China and Ireland, and continue to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
