On 12 October, Wu Yan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, came to NJUCM Xianlin Campus for investigation and research, accompanied by Zhao Yan, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Qiao Xuebin, Party Secretary of NJUCM, and Cheng Haibo, President of NJUCM.
The delegation visited the Chinese Medicine Resources Industrialization and TCM Formulae Innovative Medicine National Local Joint Engineering Research Centre.
Wu Yan first visited the Chinese Medicine Resources Industrialization and TCM Formulae Innovative Medicine National Local Joint Engineering Research Centre located in Tang Zhongying Science and Technology Building, and listened to the introduction from Professor Duan Jin’ao, Director of the Centre, on the theoretical innovations and practical exploration of industrialization carried out by the two major sections of the quality enhancement, efficiency improvement and green development of Chinese medicine resources industry, and the basic research of TCM formulae and the research and development of innovative medicine. Wu Yan pointed out that improving the resource utilization efficiency and effectiveness of the whole industrial chain of Chinese medicine will definitely promote the construction of circular economy and green development system of Chinese medicine resources in China, and provide important support for the development of circular economy and the realization of the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality of the country.
The delegation visited the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centre of Traditional Chinese Pharmacology (Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine).
In the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centre of Traditional Chinese Pharmacology, Wu Yan listened to the report of Wu Qi’nan, Party Secretary of the School of Pharmacy, on the construction and development of the Centre, observed the virtual simulation experimental teaching project of Identificology of Chinese Pharmacology, and showed approval of the Centre's work and achievements in the areas of digital transformation, construction of disciplines and curricula, and optimization of the mode of education.
The delegation visited the Jiangsu Museum of Chinese Medicine.
In Jiangsu Museum of Chinese Medicine, Wu Yan visited the thematic exhibitions of Chinese Medical History and Jiangsu Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine, and listened to the introduction from Li Wenlin, Curator of the museum, on the history, development and brilliant achievements of TCM, as well as the features of Jiangsu Provincial TCM development.
