NJUCM Participates in the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services

From September 2nd to 6th, the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held in Beijing. As the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine, the International Acupuncture Training Centre and the National TCM Service Export Base, NJUCM participated in the Health Services Theme Exhibition of CIFTIS.

 

Under the theme of Promote the Modernization of TCM and Common Health of Mankind, a total of 23 universities, research institutes, enterprises and overseas agencies from 23 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, covering public health services, biomedical innovation, digital healthcare, traditional medicine and other fields. Since NJUCM was jointly recognized by the Ministry of Commerce and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the first batch of National TCM Service Export Bases in 2019, it has relied on international platforms such as the Overseas TCM Centre, the Global Alliance of Chinese Medicine Confucius Institutes, and the International Jingfang College. NJUCM has vigorously expanded and deepened the trade of Chinese medicine services in the fields of international education, medical and health services, scientific research cooperation and cultural promotion. The exhibition aims to enhance NJUCM's comprehensive service capacity in Chinese medicine, to demonstrate the new achievements of high-quality development of Chinese medicine, and to expand the global influence of NJUCM brand.

 

Experts from NJUCM were interviewed by BTV in the exhibition area of Chinese medicine.

 

The interactive communication of integrated media has also become one of the highlights of 2023 CIFTIS. In the gourd-shaped Herbal Chamber, Zhang Xu, Director and Dean of the International Affairs Department and International Education College of NJUCM, was interviewed by BTV to introduce the development of the internationalization of TCM in the university and promote the brand of trade in services. The traditional gongfu of Chinese Medicine five-animal exercises and the traditional woodblock printing technique performed by NJUCM experts have attracted a lot of TCM fans on the spot, and were reported by a number of central-level media including People's Daily, Xinhua Net, CCTV and so on.

 

Achievements of NJUCM were reported by major media.

 

During the exhibition, the university was also invited to participate in the International Conference on Traditional Medicine Culture of 2023 CIFTIS and the Sixth Belt and Road Chinese Medicine Development Forum, carrying out enthusiastic discussions on the results of the combination of the original inheritance advantages of TCM and modern science and technology, as well as the establishment of an international joint scientific research platform for TCM.

 

NJUCM has been participating in CIFTIS for many years since its first exhibition in 2012, and has been awarded Platinum Partner of CIFTIS this year. In the future, NJUCM will insist on promoting high-level opening up and high-quality development of Chinese medicine service trade overseas, providing new opportunities of cooperation with partners from various countries.
