On July 7, 12 trainees of the Cambodian Medical Talent Training Course came to visit Xianlin Campus of NJUCM. Hu Lihong, Vice President of NJUCM, Wu Yunchuan, Vice Dean of the College of Acupuncture and Tuina, Wang Wenhui, Deputy Director of the Asia Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and Hong Beibei, Principal Staff Member of the Asia Division, were present at the seminar, and exchanged ideas with the participants on the development and promotion of traditional Chinese medicine in Cambodia, and sought for new opportunities for Sino-Cambodian cooperation. The seminar was hosted by Zhang Xu, Director and Dean of International Cooperation and Exchange Office and International Education College.

In his welcome speech, Hu Lihong briefly introduced the highlights of the international exchange and cooperation programs of Chinese medicine in NJUCM. He said that since the establishment of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Mechanis/m seven years ago, countries in the Mekong sub-region, including Cambodia, have become important partners of NJUCM to help build a new development pattern of traditional medicine. As the Jiangsu-ASEAN Traditional Medicine Talent Cultivation and Exchange Base, NJUCM will continue to expand cooperation with Cambodia and other Mekong neighbors in the field of traditional medicine, strengthen the cultivation of talents in this field, and build a platform for international TCM medical and health services.

Seng Nong, Director of Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hospital in Cambodia, spoke as a representative of the trainees. He said that during the COVID-19, China and Cambodia worked hand in hand to fight the epidemic together. In recent years, the international influence of Chinese medicine has been increasing gradually, and become an important carrier between countries of people-to-people communication, mutual understanding between civilizations, and community of common health for mankind. He hoped that in the future, the two sides will enhance dialogue and expand multilateral cooperation in talent training, scientific research and teaching, and service trade in the field of health.
During the seminar, the two sides exchanged views on mutual study and visits between Chinese and Cambodian teachers and students, academic education and short-term training, and promotion of TCM culture and services. After the meeting, the Cambodian trainees tried classic indoor exercise of Ba Duan Jin under the guidance of Wu Yunchuan, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese medicine.

The year 2023 will mark the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the 60th anniversary of the dispatch of China's foreign aid medical team, and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia. The two countries will usher in a new historic phase to build a community of destiny. The cooperation between China and Cambodia in the field of health has been expanding, and the two sides have closely cooperated in combating epidemic, public health infrastructure, traditional medicine and pharmaceuticals. In recent years, NJUCM has continuously strengthened exchanges and cooperation with Cambodia and other Lancang-Mekong countries. TCM not only benefits the people of the two countries, but also plays a positive role in upgrading Sino-Cambodian cooperation and contributing to the prosperity and development of the region.
