On the morning of June 19, Paul Seawright, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Ulster University, and Carol Curran, Executive Dean of Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, visited NJUCM. Jenny Wang, Director General of AEMG Education Group, and Liu Hongyan, Director of Global Affairs & Partners Department of AEMG, accompanied the delegation. Sun Zhiguang, Vice President of NJUCM, attended the meeting, and relevant staff from NJUCMs Academic Affairs Office, College of Nursing, College of Aging Services and Management, and International Cooperation and Exchange Office attended the meeting. The seminar was hosted by Zhang Xu, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office.

Professor Sun Zhiguang warmly welcomed the delegation of Ulster University and gave a detailed introduction to the history, discipline construction and international cooperation development of NJUCM. He said that the university will continue to promote the cooperation and exchange between the nursing professions of both sides, share resources based on the construction of advantageous disciplines, introduce advanced nursing philosophy and technologies into teaching and clinical practice, improve the quality of student training, and cultivate senior nursing talents with international vision and suitable for the international market. Professor Paul Seawright introduced the history of Ulster University, its faculties, disciplinary strengths and international development, and expressed his hope for further exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of integrated Chinese and Western medicine and elderly rehabilitation.

 

The two sides discussed issues such as joint training of nursing students and mutual recognition of credits for bachelor's degree programs, and reached a consensus on further expanding the areas of cooperation between the two sides and building a platform for scientific research, international curriculum development, joint training of doctoral students and mutual appointment of tutors in the fields of Chinese medicine, nursing and elderly services. After the meeting, the delegation visited the Jiangsu Museum of Chinese Medicine.

Founded in 1969, Ulster University is one of the largest and most influential universities in Northern Ireland, with four campuses and six colleges, ranking 10th in the UK in terms of size. The University has four disciplines ranked in the top 10 in the UK, namely Nursing and Paramedic Science, Biomedical Sciences, Irish & Celtic Studies and Nutrition and Food Science, with Nursing ranked in the top 5 in the UK and top 50 in the world.
