From May 16 to 18, Tan Sri Datuk Ter Leong Yap, Executive Chairman and Founder of Sunsuria Berhad and President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, visited NJUCM. He was accompanied by Audrey Ooi Kim Cheng, Healthcare CEO of Sunsuria, and Yong Wee Seong, Honorary President of the Malaysian Chinese Medical Association.
On the morning of May 16, a seminar was held at Xianlin Campus of NJUCM. Vice President Sun Zhiguang attended the seminar, with Zhang Xu, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and Dean of the International Education College, as the chair of the seminar.
On behalf of NJUCM, Sun Zhiguang extended a warm welcome to Ter Leong Yap and his delegation, and introduced in detail the history, discipline construction and international cooperation development of NJUCM. Ter Leong Yap expressed his hope that this visit would open the door of cooperation in the field of Chinese medicine. The two sides discussed on the establishment of China-Malaysia TCM Centre, the construction of the Chinese medicine service export trade base, the development of academic education and non-academic training of Chinese medicine in Malaysia, and participation in the Malaysian Chinese medicine cultural exhibition. The two sides agreed to take the MOU signed between NJUCM and Sunsuria as a guide to promote the development of the above-mentioned cooperation projects in the future. Xu Li, Professor of the First Clinical School of NJUCM, also a representative of the faculty who has conducted clinical treatment in Malaysia, and Chen Haiqian and Chen Shengyi, representatives of Malaysian alumni, attended the seminar.

On the afternoon of May 16, Cheng Ge, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of NJUCM, met with Ter Leong Yap and his delegation at Hanzhongmen Campus. During their stay in Nanjing, the delegation visited NJUCM's affiliated hospitals and outpatient clinics.
At Zidong site of the affiliated hospital, the two sides exchanged views on the medical system and the development of Chinese medicine in China and Malaysia. The delegation visited the hospital's Oncology Centre for in-depth discussions on how to deeply integrate quality Chinese medicine resources into Malaysian local community. At the Affiliated Nanjing Hospital of TCM, the delegation visited its TCM museum, the Constipation Platform of the Department of Proctology and the Medical Simulation Centre. The two sides had in-depth discussions on how to build a health park with TCM elements and a combination of Chinese and Western medicine in Malaysia, and to build a multiform hospital within a hospital. At the Second Affiliated Hospital, the delegation visited the hospital's National Key Pulmonary Disease Department to learn about the process of treating COVID-19 with Chinese medicine, and the hospital's Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Centre to learn about the new advances in Chinese medicine in the field of technology-enabled intelligent rehabilitation. At NJUCM's Outpatient Department, the delegation experienced the original Chinese medicine practice of the Four Diagnostic Methods of TCM, and learned about the Chinese herbs.
