On March 31, Xie Xiaojun, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, visited NJUCM’s School of Elderly Care Services and Management jointly established by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and NJUCM. Cheng Chun, Secretary of the Party Committee of NJUCM, Qiao Xuebin, Vice President of NJUCM, and heads of relevant functional departments attended the meeting.

Cheng Chun pointed out that the cooperation between Jiangsu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and NJUCM in building the School of Elderly Care Services and Management is an important initiative for both sides to implement the national strategy and jointly explore the construction of elderly care services and innovate the mode of talent training for it in China. The School has received great attention and support from the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Jiangsu Provincial Government. During the two years since its establishment, the School has achieved milestones in talent training, discipline construction, and cooperation between government, industry, academia and research. Its academic strength has been steadily strengthened, and its social reputation and influence have been enhanced. Tian Kan, Executive Dean of the School of Elderly Care Services and Management, reported on the progress of the School's work.

Xie Xiaojun pointed out that in the two years since establishment, the School has made remarkable achievements in discipline construction, teaching system construction, talent training model innovation, policy research and foreign cooperation and exchange, etc. He put forward that, in order to further strengthen the foundation and accelerate the construction, the School should first strengthen the construction of profession and build a talent training base; second, strengthen the cooperation between the university and enterprises and build an internship and training base; third, strengthen collaborative research and build a policy research base; fourth, strengthen the innovation and development and build a demonstration base pursuing the leading level of the industry.

Before the meeting, Xie Xiaojun and his delegation visited the School of Elderly Care Services and Management and had an in-depth exchange with representatives of teachers and students.
