On January 12, Clarivate Analytics released the latest data of ESI. The discipline of Pharmacology and Toxicology of NJUCM has entered the top 1,000 worldwide for the first time, which marks a new breakthrough in discipline construction of entering the top of the world.
Global ranking trend of Pharmacology and Toxicology (2018.1-2023.1)
According to the latest data, a total of 1,169 institutions in pharmacology and toxicology have been ranked in the top 1% of the global ESI, and NJUCM ranks 115 in this discipline, with a ranking percentile of 9.84% (i.e. 0.984‰). Up to now, five disciplines of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Clinical Medicine, Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry, and Neuroscience and Behavior have been ranked in the top 1% of ESI, and NJUCM is the only university of Chinese Medicine with five disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI, and with disciplines ranked in the top 1‰ of ESI.

ESI is an analysis and evaluation tool to measure the performance of scientific research and track the development trend of science, and has become one of the important evaluation index tools to evaluate the academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions and countries/regions around the world, as well as an important reference basis to evaluate first-class universities and first-class disciplines. Academic disciplines that enter the top 1% of ESI globally are generally regarded as international high-level disciplines, and that enter the top 1‰ are generally considered to have reached the top international level.
