NJUCM and Heidelberg University Held the First Rhein Forum - Seminar on the Innovation on Functionalized Molecule

On May 18, NJUCM and Heidelberg University (Universität Heidelberg) jointly held the first Rhein Forum - Seminar on the Innovation on Functionalized Molecules. More than 40 teachers and students from Heidelberg University in Germany, Kyushu University in Japan, China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing Forestry University and NJUCM participated in the seminar online and offline. The seminar was hosted by Professor Jin Hongming, alumnus of Heidelberg University, Jiangsu Provincial Distinguished Professor, and Professor of the School of Pharmacy of NJUCM.


Professor Zhang Xu delivered a welcome speech.

 

Professor Zhang Xu, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and Dean of the School of International Education of NJUCM, delivered a welcome speech and briefly introduced the international cooperation projects of NJUCM.

Professor A.Stephen K.Hashmi, academician of the European Academy of Sciences, organic chemist, former first Vice President of Heidelberg University and current Director of the CarLa Institute, gave a keynote report entitled "Gold Catalysis: The Next Level". Professor Shen Xu, Winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Professor from the School of Medicine and Holistic Integrative Medicine of NJUCM gave a keynote report entitled "Discovery of Drug Leads Against Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy: Targets and Entities". Professor Sekine Kohei, alumnus of Heidelberg University, Assistant Professor of Kyushu University, Professor Han Jinsong from China Pharmaceutical University, Professor Zhang Gang from Nanjing Forestry University, and Dr. Zhang Cheng from the School of Pharmacy of Heidelberg University shared their latest research progress in the field of Functionalized Molecules.

The seminar focused on the new synthesis and functional detection of functional molecules. Six English academic reports provided a platform for high-level academic exchanges for teachers and students from four universities and inspired active interactions.

 

NJUCM attaches great importance to substantive international exchanges and cooperation with high-level universities in the world. In order to further promote scientific research and academic cooperation with world-class universities, NJUCM will continue to promote a series of academic exchange activities such as the Rhine Forum, actively build an international academic exchange platform, promote international scientific research project cooperation, and help construct the Double First-Class disciplines.
