On November 28th,the talent construction conference of NJUCM was held in Xianlin campus. By reviewingand summarizing the achievements and experience of the university's talent workin recent years, the conference accurately analyzed and grasped the newsituation and requirements of the development of higher education and Chinesemedicine, and makes scientific plans and arrangements for the in-depthimplementation of the strategy of strengthening the university by high caliber talents.
Deputy Secretaryof Jiangsu Provincial Education Working Committee, Su Chunhai delivered a speechon behalf of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. He believed that thisconference was a grand meeting for NJUCM to accurately grasp the pulse of TheTimes and actively embrace the development tide. It is a major project toinsist on strengthening the university with talents, building a talent highlandand creating a talent peak. It is also a plan to implement the new developmentconcept and build a new pattern of first-class talent team construction. SuChunhai fully confirmed the achievements of NJUCM, especially the leap-forwarddevelopment achievements made by adhering to the people-oriented andimplementing the strategy of strengthening the university with talents since NJUCMbecame a national "Double First-class" university and a high-leveluniversity in Jiangsu Province. He also expressed his appreciation for theoutstanding contribution made by NJUCM and its affiliated hospital in fightingagainst the epidemic of COVID-19.
Zhu Min delivered a speech on behalf ofJiangsu Provincial Commission of Health and Jiangsu Provincial Administrationof TCM. Zhu Min pointed out that the generation of talented people is not onlya highlight of TCM in Jiangsu, but also a field that needs to be emphasized andstrengthened most. At present, the development of Chinese medicine has usheredin a good period of historical opportunity. The outstanding performance of TCMin the prevention and control of the epidemic has once again proved its value. NJUCMas the only higher education institution of Chinese medicine in Jiangsuprovince, is the cradle of training talents of Chinese medicine, and also isthe main land to gather talents of Chinese medicine.
President Hu Ganggave a work report entitled “Vigorously Implementing the Strategy of Strengtheningthe University by Talents and Accelerate the Construction of a First-class Universityof Chinese Medicine”. He systematically summarized the achievements in thetalent work of NJUCM, deeply analyzed the current situation and existingproblems in the talent work of NJUCM, and made a comprehensive plan for thefuture. He stressed that the talent is the first resource of universitydevelopment. By establishing the scientific talent concept, following the lawof development of higher education and talent developing mode, breaking boundariesof talent development ideas and institutional obstacles, promoting talentvigor, the university aimed at building a scientific and standardized, openinclusive talent development management system, improving the service andmanagement level, and providing talent guarantee and intellectual support.
Professor ChengChun, Chair of University Administrative Council stressed that talent was thefoothold of all work and the key factor that restricted the development of the university.It was necessary to grasp the good opportunity of the current development ofChinese medicine, focusing on the goal of a first-class university of Chinesemedicine, and promoting talent reform to seek development.
On theimplementation of the conference, Cheng Chun put forward some points of view.First, firmly establish a strong sense of talent. It is necessary to fullyrealize that human resource is the first resource, and the advantage of humanresource is the first advantage. Second, we should strive to build afirst-class environment for human resource, fully respect the value andpersonality of human resource, and build a first-class pattern of humanresource.
