Professor Yang Jin

Prof. Yang Jin, PhD holder, was born into a TCM family in Taixing City, Jiangsu Province. His grandfather’s elder brother Yang Ruhou is designated as one of “the four TCM masters in the period of the Republic of China”. In 1968, Yang Jin graduated from Department of Medical Treatment of Nanjing TCM College. Now, Yang Jin is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and an expert enjoying special government allowance of State Council, concurrently serving as honorary professor of several TCM colleges and universities. He once served as the leader of such key disciplines as TCM doctrine of epidemic febrile disease and TCM clinical fundamentals of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, and the director of the Teaching and Research Office of TCM Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. Now, he serves as deputy co-chairman of Academic Committee, director of Research Institute of TCM Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease, Chair of Yiling Collateral Disease Research Institute of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, Vice Director of Emergency Base of Jiangsu Province TCM Hospital, and honorary co-chairman of Infectious Disease Sub-association of China Association of Chinese Medicine. He was once awarded such honorary titles as “National Excellent Teacher”, one of the first 100 “National Famous Teachers” of Ministry of Education, “Excellent Doctoral Supervisor of Jiangsu Province” and “A Famous TCM Doctor of Jiangsu Province”. 


He once took charge of 12 scientific research projects including projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China. His scientific research achievements have been respectively granted 5 awards of scientific and technological progress of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, and 3 national patents. He has officially published 68 monographs including New Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease, has published more than 90 academic theses, has served as the chief editor of such textbooks as Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease for five-year undergraduate students of TCM colleges and universities worldwide, Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease for seven-year medicine program students and Theory and Clinic of Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease for postgraduates, and has supervised 36 doctor students and 48 master students. “Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Disease” lectured by him was appraised in 2003 by Ministry of Education as one of the first national “excellent courses”. 


Since he graduated from university more than 40 years ago, he has always been engaged in clinical practice. He once learned from Prof. Mengshu (a famous senior TCM doctor in China) for nearly 20 years. He has conducted in-depth research into the syndromes and therapies of infectious diseases and difficult miscellaneous diseases of internal medicine. In particular, he boasts unique diagnosis and treatment experiences in respiratory system diseases, cardiovascular diseases, spleen, kidney, liver and gallbladder diseases, nervous system diseases, tumor and gynecological diseases.
