Prof. Hu Lihong, male, born in 1969, is a professor, a doctoral supervisor, a doctor of science at Shanghai Institute of Medicine of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, an expert enjoying the special government allowance from the State Council, and a holder of the honorary title of Thousand Talents Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences and “Excellent Discipline Leader” of Shanghai.
Prof. Hu is chiefly dedicated to research into drug discovery based on the resources of Chinese herbal medicine, including: conducting the fundamental research of medicinal effect substances of Chinese herbal medicine in cooperation with biologists, and the research into the structure-function relationship between structure and activity and between structure and drug-likeness based on action mechanism, the research into the industrialized preparation of plentiful natural products, the exploration into new-type chemical reactions and the development and application of new functions, and the research into the pre-cytotoxic drugs of distribution of targeted tumor tissues. He has taken charge of projects of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 863 Program, National Major Scientific and Technological Special Projects and research projects of Natural Science Foundation of China and the Foundation of Shanghai Commission of Science and Technology. He has published more than 190 SCI research theses, has secured more than 10 authorized invention patents and has been awarded a second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress and a first prize of the Scientific and Technological Progress of Shanghai.
