Professor Wang Xudong

Prof. Wang Xudong is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. He is a member of national committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the leader of national major discipline (history and literature of traditional Chinese medicine) and the chief leader of major project supported by social science foundation. Prof. Wang also holds concurrent posts including vice chairman of Heath Rehabilitation Branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine, vice chairman of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine, vice chairman of Literature Branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine, vice chairman of Philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine Committee of China Association of History of Philosophy and vice chairman of Nanjing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is awarded over 10 science and technology progress prizes at national and provincial level. He has published more than 100 books and 150 medical theses. Prof. Wang was also awarded with the Chinese Medicine Gold Award of Chinese Outstanding Youth and received the title of National Outstanding Teacher of Baogang. And he is also the national talent of “National Million Talents Program” and the second tiered talent of “Triple 3 talent program of Jiangsu Province”.

Prof. Wang has been engaged in the research and teaching of science of heath preserving of traditional Chinese medicine, science of rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine and science of traditional Chinese medicine history and literature. He once worked as the leader to build up the rehabilitation medicine science and Physical therapy of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and discipline system of science of rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine. Prof. Wang is the famous international expert of music therapy and national expert of popularization of traditional Chinese medicine. He has presented great performance of the science of traditional Chinese medicine historical literature of our university since he started to lead the team to organize the historical literatures. In recent years, he has made great performance in the field of standardization of science of health reserving and rehabilitation and the field of study on ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine and has edited books including Collection of Ancient books of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dictionary of Chinese Medicine Prescription( second version ), One Hundred Years Jinling Traditional Chinese Medicine, History of Traditional Chinese Medicine Science, Study on Science of Heath Reserving and Rehabilitation of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 

Prof. Wang has been invited to many countries, including Germany, Switzerland, the U.S, Singapore and Japan, to work in traditional Chinese medicine clinic and teaching. He is therefore called as the emissary of traditional Chinese medicine by the media of German-speaking countries and regions.
