Prof. Huang Xi is a holder of TCM bachelor degree, master degree of Chinese-Western medicine combination, a PhD degree of physiology and postdoctoral degree of Chinese-Western medicine combination (learning from Academician Chen Keji), and a winner of National Natural Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars. Prof. Huang now serves as a professor, doctoral supervisor and postdoctoral co-supervisor at School of Basic Medicine, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Comorbid Depressive Syndrome Research Institute of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. He concurrently serves as second-level professor and first-level chief physician (standard of universities subordinated to Ministry of Education) of Central South University, and double-appointed chair professor (selected from domestic experts for the first time in history) and master/doctoral supervisor and postdoctoral co-supervisor of Chinese and Western medicine combination/clinical pharmacology/physiology/pharmacology of Xiamen University.
For many years, Prof. Huang has been dedicated to research into heart vessels, kidney and intestines, depression, etc., has undertaken 8 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, has guided and successfully applied for more than 20 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, has published more than 200 articles, including more than 30 SCI theses, with the number and the total influencing factors of theses ranking the first among the SCI theses of prescription pharmacodynamics, has been cited by others at home and abroad in more than 800 articles; has secured 2 invention patents, and has supervised 4 postdocs and many doctor and master degree students; has been granted 1 award of National Scientific and Technological Progress and 1 award of science and technology at the ministerial or provincial level.
