Prof. Zhan Libin, learning from the famous Chinese medicine expert Prof. Li Dexin in China, is a doctor in basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Now she holds the position as Dean, School of Basic Medicine, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. In addition, she is also a second grade professor, doctoral supervisor, post-doctoral cooperative supervisor and chief physician, obtaining special government allowance from the State Council, the member of Integrated TCM and Western Medicine Subject Consultative Group of the State Council, the Teaching Committee member of Integrated TCM and Western Medicine of Institution of Higher Learning of Ministry of Education, member of Expert Review Group of Department of Medical Science of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the fourth group of successor of academic experience of national veteran experts in traditional Chinese medicine. In 2015, Prof. Zhan joined the faculty of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine as an outstanding talent.
Prof. Zhan has devoted herself to basic and clinical research of senile encephalopathy prevention and treatment through integrated Chinese and western medicine, the essence and application of spleen from the perspective of viscera theory in recent years; in addition, she has been in charge of many scientific research projects at provincial and ministerial level such as key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China “Fundamental Research on Prevention and Cure of Cognitive Impairment Mechanism of Diabetes Caused by Moodiness and Therapeutic Method of Tonifying Spleen Yin” and the like; she has published over 90 academic papers at home and abroad amongst which 39 papers are collected by SCI and the highest impact factor of her single paper is 6.88; she has been awarded a first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Liaoning Provincial Government and 5 provincial and ministerial awards for relevant scientific achievements; also, she has compiled 28 academic works and teaching materials including “Chinese Medicine”, “Monograph on Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine”, “Clinical Research Methodology of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine”, “Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine”, among which 17 were edited and sub-edited by her.
