Zhenjiang TCM Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine

Zhenjiang TCM Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1958. With over 50 years of unremitting efforts, it has become Grade II Level A comprehensive hospital, which promotes traditional Chinese medicine, combines traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine, and integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care as a whole. In order to become bigger and stronger in providing better medical service to citizens with primarily Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine, under the concern and support of the municipal government, the Municipal Health Bureau and the general public, the headquarters of the hospital, originally at Youth Square, has been relocated to No. 8, 10th District of Taohuawu, and begun to open on July 23, 2007. The newly-built Zhenjiang TCM Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine covers an area of 47 acres with beautiful environment, reasonable layout, and complete functions, integrating office automation, service humanization, and intelligent control as a whole with the function of energy conservation and environmental protection at the same time. The hospital has 32 clinics for different diseases and 15 clinical departments including Internal medicine department, surgical department, gynecology department, pediatrics department, emergency department, orthopedics and traumatology department, acupuncture and moxibustion department, anus and intestine surgery department, the dermatology department, ophthalmology department, ENT department, stomatology department, massage and physiotherapy department and ICU. The hospital has 400 beds, 30 million outpatients annually. It is staffed with 359 employees, of whom there are more than 282 health technicians, 40 personnel with senior professional titles, 123 personnel with intermediate titles, one 169 academic leader, one with doctor degree in medicine, 12 with master's degree.
Centering on the concept of "taking the patient as the center and the patient satisfaction as the goal", the hospital carries out in-depth doctor-patient communication services, actively explores the establishment of a harmonious doctor-patient relationship, and takes efforts to provide the sincere service with smile and politeness to patients. It is a one-stop convenient service center integrating the services of consulting, check list, approval, guidance, convenience and other thoughtful services. The hospital continues to establish and perfect all kinds of measures for the convenience of people, including reducing dispensation area, expanding the waiting area, providing newspapers and magazines and tea to patients. Patients’ dining room provides ordering and delivery service.
The hospital strictly abides by the national drug price policy and the Jiangsu provincial medical charges, effectively improves the transparency of medical charges, implements the price proclamation system, and let the patients clearly know what they paid for in the hospital. Drug price and medical charge standard are published and rolled on LED screens at the wall of waiting hall. Prices of various drugs and medical treatment and total and detailed charges for both outpatient and inpatient can be found from the computer touch screen. In the ward corridor, you can see the price of common medical services as well as charges for each bed. The price billboards of each examination and treatment of the department are also fixed on the door of the department.
Combining the objective of enhancing the hospital to Grade III with the general requirement of annual activities management, the hospital has carried out staff training activities focusing on the basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills. And the hospital has also strengthened the study of medical ethics and norms in new period to make every employees know and obey those norms and standards. With the gradual establishment of modern hospital management system, hospital culture has been given a new connotation. Taking the opportunity of creating an excellent hospital spirit, the hospital implements etiquette knowledge training to all employees, and gradually establishes a "people-oriented" management philosophy and takes innovation as the core of the management culture.
The new hospital site should have a new look. Taking the relocation as an opportunity, keep orienting in patients and taking patient satisfaction as the goal, the hospital will accelerate the construction of Grade III hospital. A new outpatient emergency treatment building is planned for construction next year to further expand the comprehensive function of the hospital, and it is expected to create a modern new hospital with beautiful environment, complete functions, and distinct characteristics.
