Professor Cheng Haibo was appointed Vice President of NJUCM in July 2012. 


He graduated from the First Clinical Medicine School of NJUCM in 1997. Then he got his Master and Doctoral Degree in Internal Medicine of TCM successively in 2005 and 2008 from NJUCM. He has conducted one-year post-doctoral study at Harvard Medical School since January 2015. He received a Doctoral degree in Technology Economics and Management from Hohai University in December, 2017. 


He worked in the TCM Research Institute and First Clinical Medicine School of NJUCM from 1997 to 2004. He has become the Deputy Director of the Organization Department, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, and Director of the President’s Office since April 2006. He took a temporary post as Deputy Head of Wujin District in Changzhou City in 2011. Since July, 2012, he acted as the standing member of NJUCM’s Administrative Council and Vice President. He also took a temporary post as Vice Director of Personnel Education Department in the State Administration of TCM.


He currently serves as Director of Translational Medicine Research Center, Director of SATCM Major Doctors’ Prescription Assessment and Translation Research Center, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Anti-tumor Prescription Research and Industrialization Engineering Lab, Deputy Director Coordinated Innovation Center for Prevention and Treatment of Tumor in Jiangsu Province. His additional posts include Deputy Director Member of Youth Professional Committee of China Association of Chinese Medicine(Tumor Branch), the standing member  Cancer Professional Committee, China Society of Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine, member of Professional Committee of China Anti-cancer Association, the standing member of Tumor Professional Committee, China Society of Evidence-based and Preventative Medicine, Deputy Director member of Tumor Professional Committee under Jiangsu Provincial Association of TCM, deputy secretary-general of National Association of TCM Higher Education, Chairman of Research Institute of School Administrative Affairs under National Association of TCM Higher Education.


He has been dedicated to TCM’s education, research and clinical work. His research interests are TCM anti-cancer research. He has sustained research funding from National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Support Program. He was awarded the first prize in Science and Technology Progress for Higher Education Institutions by Ministry of Education as the first completer, the first prize in Science and Technology Progress by China Association of Chinese Medicine, the first prize in Science and Technology Progress by Jiangsu Association of Chinese Medicine. He is also the expert for National Natural Science Fund Evaluation Committee, the expert for evaluating the prizes in Science and Technology Progress for China Association of Chinese Medicine. He serves as deputy editor-in-chief for journal of TMR Modern Herbal Medicine, and is in editorial committee for China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy. He has been the trainee for "333 talents project" in Jiangsu Province, and has been elected into the “Six Talent Summits”, a high-level talent project in Jiangsu Province.
