Prof. Cheng Chun was appointed Chair of University Administrative Council of NJUCM in Oct 2018. 

Prof. Cheng Chun was born in October 1963 in Dongtai, Jiangsu Province, professor (Class-Ⅱ), doctoral supervisor, now serves as Chair, University Administrative Council of NJUCM, a member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Association of Science and Technology, and an educational inspector of Jiangsu Province.  

After graduation from the Department of Clinical Medicine at Nantong Medical College in 1985, Prof. Cheng started to teach at Nantong Medical College. He successively served as vice dean of the Basic Medicine Division (in charge of daily work), vice secretary of the General CPC Branch and director of the Office of Academic Administration, etc. at Nantong Medical College. Since December 1999, he began to serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Nantong Medical College. He began to serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Nantong University in August 2004. Since May 2014, He took the position as President and Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Nantong University. In September 2017, he joined Changzhou University and served as Secretary of the university CPC Committee. He assumed the current position in NJUCM since October 2018. 

Prof. Cheng has been engaging in the management of higher education for a long time, and has conducted extensive research on the management of higher education, medical education, laboratory construction, etc. The "Comprehensive Ability Promotion and Innovation Practice of Medical Students Based on the Cultivation of Clinical Skills" , a project Professor Cheng has been in charge of, was awarded the Special Prize of Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education), and was additionally awarded the Second and Third Prize of Jiangsu Province Teaching Achievement Award. Prof. Cheng’s academic research is directed in neuro-immunology and tumor-immunology research, and he has presided over more than 20 research projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is the recipient of 4 prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress Award at the provincial and ministerial level. He has published more than 60 SCI papers, edited or co-edited 3 textbooks. Prof. Cheng’s academic positions includes vice chair of the Maritime Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association, vice chair of Biotechnology Association of Jiangsu, executive director of Jiangsu Branch of Chinese Society for Immunology, director of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Inflammation and Molecular Drug Targets, executive director of the Higher Education Management Research Society of China Association of Higher Education, executive director of the National College Teaching and Research Association, and vice chairman of Medical Education Research Society of Institutions of Higher Education of Jiangsu Province.
