Secretary Yu Yanhong delivering a speech

China and Switzerland have deep relationship. There is extensive room for collaboration for the two countries in the promoting integrated Chinese and western medicine and facilitating the development of TCM in Switzerland. Aiming at a better development of the Center, secretary Yu offered the following two suggestions. The first is to adhere to openness and tolerance, facilitate mutual learning and consulting. Traditional medicine is a carrier of excellent traditional culture, and plays significant role in promoting mutual learning in culture and safeguarding people’s health. As the most powerful force among traditional medicines, traditional Chinese medicine is of unique advantage in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases, and is well received among many countries. Especially, as WHO will recognize traditional medicine in its influential global medical compendium in the 26th chapter of the 11th edition, traditional medicine embraces its best timing for development. China is willing to join Switzerland with openness and tolerance in facilitating the merged development of traditional and modern medicine to build a bridgehead for global Chinese medicine. The rehabilitation medicine is burgeoning in China. We welcome Swiss RehaClinic and TCM Ming Dao to bring advanced experiences in rehabilitation medicine and health management to China for the mutual communication and learning so that rehabilitation medicine will have a better development in China. The second suggestion is to deepen the collaboration in Chinese medicine and face up with challenges together. SATCM will continue its support for the dialogue and cooperation between the two sides in the aspects of legal regulation, medical service and research innovation in TCM, for conducting frontier and original research, and for promoting the innovation in TCM theories, technologies, products and services. Traditional Chinese medicine is not only a health care resource, but also a resource for science and technology, economy, ecology and culture. The overall function of the five resource advantages of TCM should be fully utilized for better serving peoples in all countries. The SATCM will pay attention to and continue its support for the development of the Center. The Chinese side will participate and support the next year’s International Jingfang Conference, and sincerely invites Swiss partners to visit China.
