NJUCM and WSU Jointly Launch Sydney Plan
On March 24, Prof. Hu Gang, President of NJUCM led a delegation to visit Western Sydney University (WSU). Prof. Barney Glover, Vice-Chancellor and President of WSU, and Prof. Yi-Chen Lan, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, together with Prof. Gregory Kolt, Dean of School of Science and Health, Prof. Peter Hutchings, Dean of School of Humanities and Communication Arts, Prof. Zhu Xiaoshu, Associate Dean (International) of School of Health and Science, had a meeting with NJUCM delegation.
The signing of Collaboration Agreement between NJUCM and WSU

During the meeting, NJUCM and WSU reviewed the history of past collaboration, which dated back in the year 2001 when the two universities signed an agreement to jointly offer the bachelor program of Computer and E-Commerce. Since 2012, NJUCM and WSU have reached the agreement to cooperate in the training for Chinese Medicine students in WSU.
Based on the sound foundation of collaboration, NJUCM and WSU have reached consensus to collaboration on a higher level, and jointly launched the “Sydney Plan”, which included the signing of the agreement on collaboration in Chinese Medicine Bachelor Program to offer double degree education programs in Chinese Medicine. The “Sydney Plan” also included the initiative to devise models of 3+1,3+1+1,4+1 in offering double degree bachelor and master education programs. The two sides also discussed in depth on the joint construction of “Research Center of Chinese Medicine and Health”, including the center’s framework, research fields and main tasks. Besides, the two-way visit programs for faculty and students are also discussed as part of the “Sydney Plan”.
NJUCM and WSU have both expressed the intention to jointly promote the execution of “Sydney Plan”. With solid development of current joint programs, the two sides will broaden the sphere of collaboration in more disciplines. With jointly efforts in various education programs, the two universities will complement each other’s resources and advantages in more broadened fields such as education, research and cultural exchanges.
